Former TNA President Dixie Carter has reportedly declined multiple invitations to participate in the upcoming seventh season of *Dark Side of the Ring*. According to reports from PWInsider and other industry outlets on May 13, 2026, Carter was approached by producers on several occasions to sit for interviews regarding the promotion’s history but ultimately chose not to take part in the project.

The upcoming season of the Vice TV docuseries is set to feature a massive three-part deep dive into the rise and fall of TNA Wrestling. While Carter is often credited with keeping the promotion afloat by securing investment from her family’s company, Panda Energy, in 2002, her tenure was also marked by significant creative and financial controversies. Her decision to abstain from the documentary comes despite her recent return to the spotlight, including a surprise appearance on the TNA iMPACT! premiere on AMC earlier this year.

Even without Carter’s participation, the TNA special is expected to feature a heavy-hitting lineup of perspectives. TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett, Vince Russo, and Jim Cornette are all confirmed to appear, alongside Matt and Jeff Hardy. On a recent episode of *The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy*, the elder Hardy brother revealed that he and Jeff sat for several hours of interviews, suggesting that the documentary will focus heavily on the redemption arc of the Jarrett family and the volatile backstage politics that defined the "Asylum" and "Spike TV" eras.

Season 7 of *Dark Side of the Ring* is scheduled to premiere on July 7, 2026, with the first two chapters of the TNA trilogy airing back-to-back. The season will also feature episodes on Paul Orndorff, The Big Boss Man, and the infamous 2005 clash between Samoa Joe and Necro Butcher. While the TNA story will be told through the eyes of its founders and top stars, the absence of the woman who sat in the president’s chair for fifteen years remains a significant talking point heading into the premiere.
