The National Wrestling Alliance is entering a bold new chapter in its 77-year history as it prepares for its official broadcast television debut on Sinclair’s Comet TV. Starting Friday, May 1, 2026, NWA Powerrr will move from its previous home on the Roku Channel to the free, over-the-air network, marking the first time under Billy Corgan’s leadership that the promotion has secured a dedicated broadcast deal. The premiere weekend serves as a "one-two punch," with a special prime-time episode airing Friday at 10 PM ET, followed by another all-new episode on Saturday at 4 PM ET.

The centerpiece of this historic debut will be the launch of the 2026 Crockett Cup Tag Team Tournament. The tournament, which has been a staple of the NWA since its resurrection in 2019, will kick off during the Friday night premiere and lead into a special four-episode event. While the full bracket remains closely guarded, fans can expect the promotion’s top tag teams to vie for the prestigious trophy, with heavy hitters like JR Kratos and Odinson already being featured in promotional materials for the Comet move.

Beyond the tag team tournament, the debut episodes are set to showcase the NWA’s current champions and rising stars. NWA World Women’s Champion Natalia Markova is expected to be a focal point of the weekend as she nears a full year as the face of the women's division. The broadcast will also feature prominent appearances from "Thrillbilly" Silas Mason, Carson Drake, and the NWA World Women’s Television Champion Tiffany Nieves. These performers represent the "new era" Corgan has cultivated—one that prioritizes distinct personalities and classic, studio-style wrestling.

This move to Comet TV, a network known for its nostalgic sci-fi and horror programming, aligns with Corgan's vision of making wrestling accessible to everyone without the barrier of a streaming subscription. By partnering with Sinclair—the former stewards of Ring of Honor—Corgan is aiming to tap into a broader audience that appreciates the storytelling-heavy, "studio-wrestling" aesthetic that NWA Powerrr was built upon. With the Crockett Cup serving as the catalyst for this new era, the NWA is looking to prove that its brand of "classic" action still has a place on national television in 2026.
