AEW Double or Nothing 2026 Location Announced
All Elite Wrestling is breaking tradition for its eighth annual Double or Nothing, officially moving the marquee event away from its customary Las Vegas roots. AEW announced that Double or Nothing 2026 will take place on Sunday, May 24, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. This marks the first time in the event’s history that it will not be held in a city or venue associated with the casino theme that inspired its name, signaling a major strategic shift for the promotion's Memorial Day weekend tradition.
Louis Armstrong Stadium, a premier tennis venue located within the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, offers a unique open-air atmosphere with a capacity of approximately 14,000. While the venue is situated right next door to Arthur Ashe Stadium—home of the annual AEW Grand Slam—Louis Armstrong is being praised by fans for its more intimate sightlines, which place the audience closer to the ring. The decision to run this specific venue comes as Arthur Ashe Stadium reportedly undergoes renovations, but the move to Queens also places AEW in the heart of one of its most loyal and vocal markets during a holiday weekend.
The change in scenery hasn't dampened the event's momentum. Early ticket distribution reports indicate that over 11,000 seats have already been claimed, surpassing the attendance of the 2025 edition held in Glendale, Arizona. By bringing Double or Nothing to New York City, AEW is leaning into the high-energy, "big fight" feel that the Big Apple provides. The stadium's location near the 7 train makes it easily accessible for local fans, ensuring a raucous, sell-out environment for what is considered one of the "Big Five" events on the AEW calendar.
While the location is new, the stakes remain as high as ever. The card is already beginning to take shape with blockbuster announcements, including an International Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita. Additionally, the storied reunion of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will be put to the ultimate test as they face FTR in an "I Quit" Street Fight for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, with the added stipulation that Copeland and Cage must retire as a duo if they lose. As AEW prepares to take over Queens, Double or Nothing 2026 is shaping up to be a historic departure from the norm that could redefine the event's identity for years to come.
