NXT Veteran Returns to The Ring

Noam Dar
has officially returned to televised competition, ending a nearly year-long hiatus that sidelined one of NXT’s most consistent performers. Following his surprise appearance on the May 6 episode, where he confirmed he was medically cleared after a meeting with Robert Stone, the "Supernova 11" stepped back into the ring for his first TV match since June 2025 on the May 12, 2026, broadcast of NXT.

The former Heritage Cup Champion faced off against Jackson Drake in a highly anticipated comeback bout. While Dar showcased little ring rust—utilizing his signature technical style and locked-in armbars—the return was spoiled by the numbers game. Drake, a prominent member of the Vanity Project faction, benefited from the constant interference of Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, and Myka Lockwood at ringside. A timely distraction from Lockwood allowed Drake to capitalize, finishing Dar with a 450 Splash to secure the victory.

This return marks the end of a grueling physical recovery for the 32-year-old Scotsman. Dar was forced to relinquish the NXT Heritage Cup in June 2025 due to a severe injury that occurred just months after a previous comeback. These back-to-back setbacks kept him away from the Capitol Wrestling Center for almost twelve months, during which time his former Meta-Four stablemates were forced to navigate the roster without their leader. Before his televised return this week, Dar quietly tested his readiness during the NXT live event circuit in late April, picking up a win over Drake in Dade City.

Despite the loss on his first night back, Dar’s reinstatement to the active roster adds a veteran presence to a division currently in flux. With new threats like Naraku making their presence felt and Robert Stone actively reshuffling the roster, Dar’s path back to championship gold remains a primary storyline. His immediate rivalry with the Vanity Project suggests that while he may have returned without his Meta-Four allies by his side, the Supernova is far from finished making an impact on Tuesday nights.
