Rayne Leverkusen Receives WWE Ring Name

The WWE NXT Women's Division is about to get a heavy dose of rock and roll. Independent wrestling standout and former PROGRESS Women's World Champion Rayne Leverkusen has officially received her new WWE ring name, and she will now be competing under the moniker Lizzy Rain. The rising star confirmed the switch by updating her Instagram handles this week, aligning with recent trademark filings from WWE and reports from Bodyslam+ and Fightful Select.

Fans of Leverkusen's independent work know her as "The Maiden of Metal," and her new NXT presentation seems to be honoring those roots. According to backstage reports, the name "Lizzy Rain" was heavily inspired by her genuine love for heavy metal and hard rock music. The first name is a clear nod to iconic rock figures and bands, drawing parallels to Thin Lizzy, Lizzy Borden, and Halestorm’s legendary frontwoman, Lzzy Hale.
