Joshua Littell, known in the ring as "Sir Samurai," suffered a cardiac arrest at a show in Penole on April 26th, 2025. Thanks to the immediate and heroic actions of his tag team partner, Eliza Hammer, an EMT and certified CPR instructor, Littell's life was saved.

The incident, which occurred during a wrestling event, sent shockwaves through the audience and backstage. Littell reportedly collapsed, and his heart stopped. Without hesitation, Eliza Hammer, recognizing the critical situation, immediately initiated CPR, a testament to the vital importance of bystander intervention in cardiac arrest cases. Her swift and skilled response proved instrumental in restoring his heart function before paramedics arrived.

Following the dramatic incident, Littell was rushed to the emergency room in Vallejo and spent three days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He has since been moved to Sacramento and, as of late June, is continuing his recovery. A GoFundMe campaign, "Stand by Sir Samurai: Heart Stoppage Recovery," was launched by Heather Lee to help alleviate the financial burden of his medical bills and time off work. The outpouring of support from fans and the wrestling community has been significant, highlighting the close-knit nature of the industry.

While the full extent of his recovery and the long-term implications are still being assessed, recent updates from the GoFundMe page indicate that "Samurai is still not back to working or driving, but is doing well all things considered." A local news story by KCRA also covered his incredible story of survival and recovery.

Josh Littell, a familiar face in the independent wrestling circuit, is known for his dedication and passion for the sport. His unexpected cardiac arrest serves as a stark reminder that even seemingly healthy individuals can be susceptible to such medical emergencies. The incident also underscores the critical role of CPR training and immediate medical attention in improving survival rates.

The wrestling world continues to send its well wishes to Josh Littell as he embarks on the next phase of his recovery journey. His story stands as a powerful example of the impact of quick thinking and skilled intervention in saving a life.
