Britt Baker is Attempting to Leave AEW

Rumors are swirling in the professional wrestling world that Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., one of All Elite Wrestling's foundational stars and former Women's World Champion, is actively seeking to depart the company. This comes amidst a prolonged absence from AEW television since November 2024 and cryptic social media posts that have fueled speculation about her unhappiness.

Sources, notably from Bodyslam.net, indicate that Baker is "actively seeking to part ways with AEW." The sentiment behind this alleged desire to leave is reportedly rooted in a feeling that there's nothing left for her in the promotion. Reports suggest "burned bridges" and a perception that the company's environment has changed around her.

This news follows months of whispers and unconfirmed reports about Baker's status. Her last televised appearance was in November 2024, in a brief interaction with Serena Deeb where Baker notably uttered "nobody cares" into the camera. Since then, her absence has been a topic of much discussion among fans and within the wrestling media.

Adding fuel to the fire, Baker recently shared a quote on her Instagram story: "A bottle of water can be $1 at a supermarket, $3 at the gym, $5 at the movies, $6 on a plane. Same water. The only thing that changed its value was the place. So next time you feel your worth is nothing, maybe you're at the wrong place." Many have interpreted this as a direct commentary on her perceived value within AEW.

However, it's important to note that conflicting reports have emerged. Fightful Select, a reputable wrestling news outlet, has stated that sources "familiar with" Baker's situation "vehemently denied" any claims that she is actively trying to exit the company. They suggest that the social media post may be typical of Baker's sharing of motivational quotes, and that those within AEW have not been informed of any desire for her to leave.

Despite the conflicting reports, it's widely understood that Baker remains under contract with AEW, with her deal reportedly running until 2026. There's also the possibility of AEW adding time to her contract due to past injury absences, potentially extending it into 2027. This contractual obligation makes any immediate departure challenging, even if her desire to leave is legitimate.

The situation surrounding Britt Baker's future in AEW remains fluid and uncertain. While a prominent figure in the company's early days and a key player in building its women's division, her current status and direction are subjects of intense speculation. Whether this ultimately leads to a "DMD" departure or a renewed push within All Elite Wrestling remains to be seen.
