Visa Woes Leave Mark Coffey "Landlocked" After WWE Release

Mark Coffey and Gallus enter the ring.

Following the recent wave of WWE releases in May 2025, former NXT UK and NXT Tag Team Champion Mark Coffey, along with his Gallus stablemates Joe Coffey and Wolfgang, is currently facing significant visa complications that have left him "landlocked" in the United States.

Joe Coffey, Mark's brother, recently revealed in an interview that the work visas issued by WWE are intrinsically tied to their contracts. Upon their release, these visas expired, leaving the Scottish wrestlers unable to work or travel internationally. This situation prevents them from returning to Europe or pursuing opportunities in promotions in Japan or other countries, and also restricts them from working within the US while the new visa process is underway.

The process of obtaining new visas is described as both lengthy and costly, requiring a significant investment from the former WWE talents. For Mark Coffey, a veteran of over 16 years in professional wrestling, this forced hiatus is a source of frustration. He, like his brother, is eager to get back in the ring and resume his career.

The predicament highlights a common hurdle faced by international wrestlers upon their departure from major promotions like WWE, as their ability to continue their careers is often contingent on navigating complex immigration procedures. For now, Mark Coffey and the rest of Gallus are in a holding pattern, awaiting the resolution of their visa situation before they can once again actively pursue their passion for professional wrestling.
