Vickie Guererro Teasing WWE Return

The iconic, ear-splitting cry of "Excuse Me!" may soon reverberate through WWE arenas once again, as reports indicate that Vickie Guerrero, one of professional wrestling's most memorable on-screen personalities, is poised for a return to World Wrestling Entertainment. Sources suggest Guerrero has been telling those close to her that she anticipates being back with WWE "within a few weeks."

While the specifics of her role remain under wraps, the timing of these reports aligns intriguingly with the upcoming WWE Evolution premium live event, scheduled for July 13th in Atlanta, Georgia. Evolution, being WWE's all-women's pay-per-view, would provide a fitting stage for Guerrero, who has a long and storied history in the company, often managing and elevating female talent, and serving as a groundbreaking General Manager for both Raw and SmackDown.

Vickie Guerrero's journey in professional wrestling is a unique one, initially stepping into the spotlight after the passing of her beloved husband, Eddie Guerrero. She quickly carved out her own indelible legacy, captivating audiences with her shrill "Excuse Me!" catchphrase and her unparalleled ability to draw heel heat. From her on-screen romances with Superstars like Edge and Dolph Ziggler to her authoritative runs as General Manager, Guerrero consistently delivered memorable moments.

Her full-time tenure with WWE concluded in 2014, but she made sporadic appearances until 2018. From 2019 to 2023, Guerrero plied her trade with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where she managed talent such as Nyla Rose and Andrade El Idolo. Her move to AEW had reportedly led to WWE cutting off contact during that period, but a significant shift in their relationship became apparent when Guerrero was spotted backstage at a WWE SmackDown taping in September 2024, and even featured in a post-show digital exclusive.

During her time in WWE, some storylines she was involved in drew criticism. For instance, after Eddie Guerrero's passing, some angles incorporated his name or legacy in ways that were seen by some as tasteless. One example cited by some fans involved Randy Orton's "Hog Splash" finisher, which was perceived as disrespecting Eddie Guerrero. Another controversial instance involved Edge cheating on Vickie with Alicia Fox, leading to a public divorce angle.

More recently, after her full-time departure from WWE and during her tenure with AEW, Vickie Guerrero faced significant controversy. In March 2023, her younger daughter, Sherilyn, publicly accused Vickie's husband, Kris Benson, of sexual assault during a cruise in 2020. Vickie's older daughter, Shaul, and Chavo Guerrero publicly supported Sherilyn's claims. However, Vickie and Kris Benson vehemently denied the accusations. Vickie herself issued a now-deleted Instagram post, denying the allegations and accusing Sherilyn of lying, threatening legal action, and stating that she would no longer be related to her. These public accusations and Vickie's response garnered widespread attention and criticism within the wrestling community and beyond. Her AEW contract expired around the same time, and while her exit was reportedly amicable, these allegations surfaced prior to her full departure from the company.
